Oracle Quality Assurance Tester Intern in Albany, New York

Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Tester- Intern, you will be responsible for evaluating our digital products to ensure compliance and quality standards and requirements. You will help ensure compliance with digital accessibility regulations and requirements. In addition, you will be responsible for writing and maintaining accessibility testing documentation, such as test plans, test cases and bug reports.

Qualifications:

Applicants for the Quality Assurance Tester role is required to have these qualifications:

  • Knowledge of digital accessibility and disability inclusion

  • Knowledge of regulations related to digital accessibility (e.g., Section 508, ADA)

  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA requirements

  • Knowledge of web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

  • Experience using accessibility evaluation tools and frameworks (e.g., WAVE, Developer Tools, Accessibility Inspector)

  • Experience using assistive technologies (e.g., VoiceOver, JAWS, Dragon Naturally Speaking, ZoomText)

Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Tester evaluates digital products to ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements. The Quality Assurance Tester ensures compliance with digital accessibility regulations and requirements by performing the following duties and responsibilities: Perform accessibility tests using evaluation tools, manual testing, and assistive technologies. Record results of accessibility tests

Other responsibilities include:

  • Understanding and apply accessibility guidelines (WCAG, Section 508, ADA, ) to Oracle products

  • Performing manual testing for Oracle products for compliance and accessibility standards

  • Using a variety of testing tools including screen readers to identity potential accessibility issues (e.g, VoiceOver, JAWS, Dragon Naturally Speaking, ZoomText

Hiring Range: from $18.99 to $53.00 per hour; from $39,500 to $110,240 per annum.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
