In North America we have over 11,000 associates and offer a wide variety of employment opportunities - from warehouse forklift operators and supervisors to accounting, customer support, engineering, transportation, and technology solutions positions.ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibility:The Americold Summer Internship is a 12-week, full-time, paid assignment that takes place over the summer months. During this time, our Interns gain valuable knowledge related to their area of interest (i.e. Operations, Distribution, Finance, Internal Audit, etc.), while contributing to one of the COOLest business sectors. The internship includes assignments on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the opportunity to network with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers.As an Americold Intern, the experience you will gain here will not only be essential to your professional growth and development, but your talents will make a vital difference for our company, too.*Sales initiatives involving the analysis of customer requirements combined with Americold capabilities to create proposals for new business.*Support the development of customized logistics solutions for Americold's customers, with respect to customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs)*Undertake detailed analysis of customer product profiles to determine warehousing requirements, including resource modeling, layout planning, material flow planning and equipment definition.Essential Functions:1.Support Supply Chain Analyst II, Senior Supply Chain Analyst and SCS Managers with project analytics, customer data collection, cleansing and solution development and costing2.Utilize expertise in warehousing processes and facility designs to support productivity estimates for new business; manage and develop resource planning/ engineered headcount tools to ensure accuracy of costing*Spend time in warehouses as needed to understand primary distribution functions (receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, shipping)3.Build financial models for sites with new businesses; review line item P&L detail to simulate impact of introducing new customer to a site4.Develop business cases using financial modeling techniques to support client proposals and internal initiatives5.Prepare and manage structured action plans to ensure all projects (RFP, Capital Development) have a clearly defined set of deliverables to meet our customers' deadlines6.Full interaction with other internal functions to develop best-in-class proposals7.8.Support design of warehouses, fulfillment & distribution centers with use of AutoCAD as needed9.Provide project findings and recommendations with supporting analysis10.Develop presentations and proposals for both internal use and customer responses (RFPs)11.Other duties as requestedQualificationsQualifications & Experience:Education, Training & Professional Experience:*On track for undergraduate degree in Business, Logistics or Engineering*0-2 year(s) professional experience in a relevant field or industry such as 3PL or distribution*Requires a strong...
