Michigan State University Federal Credit Union Financial Education Intern Oakland County Spring in Auburn Hills, Michigan

Description

Under general supervision, but in compliance with established policies and procedures, conducts financial education and outreach to MSUFCU and OU Credit Union members and members of these communities. Assists with developing content for the Financial 4.0 website and mobile app. Develops social media contests, attends financial education events in the community, and assists with the creation of financial presentation materials. Work Location:Onsite; Oakland County Work Schedule:Part-Time approximately 15-24 hours during MSUFCU Office Hours (8:30am-5:00pm); A schedule will be determined around the intern's class schedule. Occasional assignments to work at special events during evenings and weekends. Paid Hourly Internship: $15/hour Duration: Minimum of one semester, but intern is able to extend internship (part-time hours) until graduation if desired Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists with developing content for the financial education website and mobile app, Financial 4.0. Develops social media contests designed to engage Michigan State University students with the Financial 4.0 Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat accounts. Attends seminars and presentations with Financial Educators at Michigan State University and in the East Lansing and Lansing communities. Responsible for understanding the products and services offered by the Credit Union. Helps with special projects and programs to ensure success of the program Takes photographs to be used for the Credit Union's intranet and websites, as required. Writes, designs, and edits blogs and other social network programs as it relates to member financial education. Meets with Financial Education team biweekly to discuss progress on individual projects and for guidance in areas needing assistance. Creates presentations based on specific financial education topics as assigned. Assists Financial Education team with occasional administrative tasks to prepare for programs and presentations. Participate in training activities within your department or branch and with the learning and talent development department; such training helps to ensure staff compliance with Credit Union policies and state and federal regulations and laws Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required High school diploma required Actively pursuing Associate or Bachelor degree with a preference for areas of marketing, communications, journalism, education, graphic design, business, or related major 1-2 years of previous work experience preferred, but not required Ability to commute to events in Lansing, East Lansing, and surrounding communities Demonstrates empathy and a commitment to providing superior member service Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with a desired proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and GoAnimate.
