GE Aerospace B.Tech Summar Internship : Electric Power in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary

As a B.Tech Intern in Electrical Engineering, you will gain hands-on experience and contribute to various projects related to aircraft power distribution, hybrid electric propulsion, and more electric propulsion systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers and researchers, developing your skills and knowledge in power electronics, embedded controls, and system modeling and AI for power electronics design.

Site Overview

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Simulation and Analysis : Assist in the simulation and analysis of electrical and electromechanical systems for aircraft power distribution and propulsion systems.

  • Power Converter Design : Support the design and development of power converters for hybrid electric and more electric applications.

  • Embedded Controls : Help in the development and testing of embedded controls using FPGA and microcontrollers.

  • High-Frequency Resonant Converters : Participate in the innovation and development of high-frequency resonant converters for aerospace applications.

  • Research and Presentation : Contribute to research activities and assist in writing and presenting findings to internal teams and at technical meetings.

  • Collaboration : Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality results.

  • Project Support : Assist in driving technical projects to success, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Should obtain NOC from college to pursue summer internship

  • Basic understanding of power electronics and control

  • Knowledge of PCB design, hardware design, and building power circuits and systems.

  • Exposure to circuit and system simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink, PLECS.

  • Basic programming skills, preferably in FPGA/Microcontroller environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Basic python programming skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Curiousity to learn
