_Internship Position Description_: The Department of Energy Resources’ (DOER) mission is to create a clean, affordable, equitable and resilient energy future for all residents, including low-income and Environmental Justice populations, businesses, communities, and institutions in the Commonwealth. DOER is committed to working to promote energy programs and policies that are developed and implemented to ensure environmental justice among all the Commonwealth's citizens, communities, businesses, and institutions. _ This internship position will support the Energy Efficiency Division in its work on the Commonwealth’s recently updated building energy codes and the development of building retrofit guidelines designed to achieve decarbonization outcomes. *Resume and cover letter required with application.* ** *Description of Duties and Responsibilities*:_ · Assist in the development of educational materials related to the updated building energy codes to facilitate code understanding by building developers and others_ · Conduct research to support the development of building retrofit guidelines_ · Develop a system to manage and respond to constituent inquires relating to building energy code_ · Participate in division internal and external meetings _ _Preferred Knowledge and Skills_: · Interest in building energy and policy_ · Coursework in engineering or architecture_ · Good analytical skills_ · Proficiency with Microsoft Office- particularly Excel and PowerPoint_ · Research experience_ · Knowledge of building energy modeling and HVAC systems is a plus_ _Hours per week_: · Full time- 37.5 hours per week · This position is partially remote with a hybrid schedule that includes a minimum of one day in-office per week_ *Other relevant information*:_ · Contracted Student Internship compensation will be up to $23/hour for College Undergraduate Students and up to $35/hour for Graduate Students. · Internship duration June - August First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
