Formfactor / HPD Product Division Researches, Designs, Tests and Manufactures world class Cryogenic refrigerators (Cryostats) that typically maintain 4 Kelvin and lower temperatures. Payloads for our Cryostats include Quantum Computers, superconducting integrated circuits, and low noise detectors used in astronomy. We are presently researching and developing next generation refrigerators that will continuously maintain 0.1K and lower temperatures, which requires interfacing with specialized instruments and devices used in their construction.

FormFactor hosts an annual 12-week internship as part of our commitment to growing and developing the next generation of technical talent. Internships give current students and recent graduates the chance to work on novel projects alongside cryogenics experts. Successful candidates must be available to start this program on Monday, May 20st or Monday June 17th and commit to all 12 weeks of the program.

About the Internship In this position, the intern will work with the Boulder software team where they will: Assist with development and testing of our shared C# library Assist with architecting, writing, and debugging specified behaviors on target hardware using C# Debug, verify & validate system operation using lab test equipment test scripts Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and electrical engineers to integrate software into complex systems Collaborate with internal customers to develop internal software tools using C#

What are we looking for? We are looking for a highly motivated Software Engineering Intern to work on R&D&T Projects who meets the following preferred requirements: Minimum of 2 years as an undergraduate studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Strong knowledge of C# / C++ (if C++, we anticipate you will be able to assimilate C# easily) Good software architecture and code practices, and willingness to learn and follow industrial software practices Beneficial to have e perience with communication interfaces such as TCP/IP, RS485 and USB Beneficial to have experience developing Device Drivers for Instruments Not afraid to utilize / learn lab test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters, etc.) for system or device debug Willingness to learn new concepts, especially those relating to physics and hardware
