Jacobs Charlotte, NC - Construction Management Intern – Summer 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina
We are looking for driven and curious interns with an interest in Project Management/Construction Management to join our Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Program Management team in Charlotte, NC.
Jacobs provides full-service engineering, procurement, and construction management services for both new and existing facilities of various public and private clients. Join us for an opportunity to work on state-of-the-art educational, industrial, aviation, municipal, and commercial facility projects.
Working within one of our Program and Construction Management (PMCM) teams, You will gain exposure to field operations, design quality control, project execution, and strategic problem-solving while contributing tangible value to a large K12 school construction program. You will support senior project management staff in all aspects of the project, gaining meaningful and real-world project experience.
Key Responsibilities
Assist senior staff in executing project management tasks, including:
Quality, cost, and schedule control
Contract administration
Program governance and document control
Task management and coordination
Support Field quality control through regular field visits and observation reports
Engage in design reviews to gain project insights and enhance quality control throughout the design and permitting process
Independently execute discrete project tasks which support actual project challenges with senior oversight
Provide input to improve accessibility of entry level roles to emerging professionals
Enrolled in an accredited architecture, engineering, construction management, or related program
Basic understanding of construction industry processes
Strong problem solving, organizational and communication skills
Detail oriented with the ability to interpret and execute plans effectively
Confident in abilities and self-aware of growth areas
Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Professional, enthusiastic, customer-service oriented attitude
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
GPA of 3.0 and above
A valid driver’s license
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) graduates are encouraged to apply
