Summary
The Process Engineer Intern position at ITW Specialty Films Division is a dynamic role for a rising senior who is interested in applying engineering principles and knowledge in a manufacturing environment and gaining industry experience. You will be actively involved in the development and implementation of production process improvements necessary to contribute to our operational and company-wide goals. This position will be based out of our manufacturing plant in Chicago Heights, IL.
What you will be working on:
Work on technical projects applying engineering, continuous improvement principles, and ITW’s business model to achieve measurable outcomes in operational efficiency.
Gain hands on experience with data collection and analysis for live production processes and develop standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with engineering, chemistry, quality and/or operations personnel to define and implement process improvements.
Build a working knowledge of how process engineering projects integrate and support business goals.
Qualifications
School Enrollment: A rising senior who is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
Office Suites: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Critical Thinking & Decision Making: Ability to make logical and sound decisions and ability to know when to act independently and when to seek assistance.
Problem Solving: Have a resourceful, methodical, and logical approach to problem solving
Safety First Mentality: Understands the importance of safety in operations and a lab environment; must maintain a safety mindset at all times
Curiosity & Learning Orientation: Actively identifying new areas for learning and applying newly gained knowledge/skill on the job.
Drive to Excel: Driven to succeed and willing to go the extra mile. Perseveres in the face of obstacles and challenges.
Interpersonal Skills & communication: Ability to work collaboratively and partner well with others, express oneself verbally and in writing, and listen well.
Compensation Information:
$24 - $27 hourly commensurate with experience and qualifications
