Program Overview:

The CBRE Local FM Internship Program is a 3-month immersive experience designed to provide college students with hands-on exposure to the intricacies of facilities management. This program aims to cultivate future industry leaders by offering opportunities to learn from experienced professionals, participate in real-world projects, and develop essential skills for a successful career in Local.

Program Structure:

  1. Project-Based Learning:

  2. Project Definition: Prior to the internship, the Business Unit Leader (BUL) will identify a specific productivity project that requires additional support. They will provide justification for the role as well as a ROI analysis on how the project will deliver more value than the cost for the internship. This project will likely take place at a local client account in the Chicagoland area.

  3. Intern Involvement: Interns will be assigned to work on this project under the guidance of a mentor (suggested mentors would be Account Directors (ADs) or Senior Account Directors (SADs))

  4. Skill Development: Interns will gain practical experience in CBRE systems, culture, and facilities management.

  5. Rotational Assignments:

  6. Exposure to Diverse Roles: Interns will be able to rotate to a separate account for 1 week to experience a different business and grow their network.

  7. Broader Perspective: This rotation will provide a comprehensive understanding of the FM industry and its various functions.

  8. Mentorship Program:

  9. Dedicated Mentors: Each intern will be paired with an Area General Manager (AGM) who will provide guidance, support, and career advice during weekly touch bases.

  10. In-Person Learning: Interns will be required to report into the local CBRE office or a client site at the discretion of their mentor.

Equal Pay Disclaimer : CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the intern position is $20.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the intern position is $25.00 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
