The Sherwin-Williams Company IT Summer Internship 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio

The Summer IT Internship is aimed at providing current college students with hands-on, applicable training and mentorship. This unique experience will foster the growth of foundational skills in a Fortune 500 environment, as well as provide meaningful project work. Along with individual team events, the Internship will be part of a cohort with specialized programming and engagement events to promote growth opportunities. Assignment options exist throughout the entire Digital Technology, Paint Stores Group-IT and Cyber organizations, allowing participants to have an individualized experience and broad exposure to the organization. Interns may pursue a more business-focused or technical-focused path. Interns may gain exposure to the software development life-cycle (SDLC) while contributing to individualized project-based work assignments. Assignments expose participants to foundational tools, data sources and structures, business emersion, and solution design. Participants will focus on project assignments in areas that may include, but are not limited to: 1. Cybersecurity 2. DevOps and Cloud 3. Application Development 4. Solution Delivery and Design 5. Infrastructure-as-code 6. Data Delivery and Analysis 7. Data Science 8. Data Governance 9. Configuration and Application Delivery 10. Master Data Management All assignments will be located at the Corporate Headquarters Associated Offices in Cleveland, Ohio. Essential Functions Strategy and Planning * Contribute to project-based work plans. * Investigate, analyze, and recommend improvements to address or prevent business issues. Design and Deployment * Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and impact analysis for solution delivery. * Plan and organize tasks, report progress, and coordinate with other team members. * Assist with the identification and implementation of solutions that provide enhanced functionality and increased value. Operational Management * Create and maintain design documentation. * Follow organizational change management and communication protocols. Incidental Functions * Assist with other assignments as necessary to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the team. * Minimal travel may be required. * Work outside the standard office 7.5-hour workday may be required. Position Requirements Basic Qualifications: * Must be 18 years of age. Formal Education & Certification * Must have a high school degree or equivalent (i.e., GED). * Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in IT or a Business-related field (i.e., finance, supply chain, etc.) with a strong interest in IT and Digital Technology. * Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred. * Rising Junior or Senior status preferred. * Preferred classroom and/or experience in one or more programming languages such as SQL, C#, Java, Visual Basic, HTML, etc. * Previous Sherwin-Williams Internship or Co-Op experience preferred.
