Position will primarily work in person mainly in an office setting, some potential for work-from-home as the summer workload and intern experience offers; may require some field work.

Your Opportunity

The role of a Structural intern is to work independently on smaller tasks, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. They will work on plans and designs of structural engineering projects specifically related to water/wastewater/stormwater, and other miscellaneous type structures.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with structural engineering analyses and design for projects of all sizes and working on several project concurrently

  • Assisting in preparation of construction contract documents, plans and reports

  • Performs calculations using hand calculations as well as utilizing company developed standard software

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal

  • General knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit

  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite

  • Familiar with MathCAD is a plus

  • Familiar with finite elements software such as Staad, or SAP2000 is a plus

  • Willingness to perform field work, as needed, is a plus

Education and Experience

In progress towards earning a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structures, master’s degree consideration is a plus.

Position will primarily require field work which may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
