Baylor Scott & White Health IS Procurement Strategist - Summer Intern in Dallas, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

Please note, we have two Intern positions open (IS Procurement Analyst Intern and IS Procurement Strategist Intern), please only apply to one position.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Analyst Summer Intern to join our information services team for a temporary internship position. This internship offers a unique opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in procurement, vendor management, and supply chain management within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The key deliverable for the 10-week internship is producing application health scorecards for service lines within IS and making key recommendations related to vendor management with existing suppliers and application solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Partner with knowledge experts on the IS team to update the application health scorecard utilized in portfolio management - bringing insights as we evaluate current suppliers and applications.

  • Assist in analyzing and monitoring procurement data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, application rationalization, and areas for process improvement.

  • Support IS procurement team in conducting market research and supplier evaluations to ensure the selection of high-quality vendors and optimal pricing.

  • Assist in the preparation of procurement reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders and senior management.

  • Support vendor management activities including maintaining vendor databases, evaluating vendor performance, and identifying opportunities for relationship improvement.

  • Assist in the coordination of vendor meetings, performance reviews, and contract renewals.

  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and projects as assigned by procurement managers to address specific business needs and challenges.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Healthcare, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make recommendations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work output and data analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent

  • EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
