Job Summary:

The Production Control Intern will support and learn key processes related to material planning, part setup, and production scheduling within a multi-site manufacturing environment. This role will assist in setting up new part transfers, ensuring necessary parameters are accurately defined in the ERP system, and supporting material planning initiatives such as Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and other key part attributes. Additionally, the intern will work with production schedulers to gain hands-on experience in scheduling from a materials planning perspective. This internship offers broad exposure across supply chain, scheduling, and planning functions, providing a strong foundation for future career growth in these areas.

Core Position Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the setup and validation of new part transfers, ensuring accurate parameters and system setup in ERP.

• Support material planning efforts, including updating and maintaining Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and other key part attributes.

• Work closely with production schedulers to understand and assist in material planning and scheduling processes.

• Aid in the development and documentation of best practices for scheduling, planning, and material flow.

• Analyze data to identify potential improvements in material availability and scheduling efficiency.

• Assist with inter-site order planning and coordination for the movement of manufactured components between multiple locations.

• Document processes and create work instructions for ERP users in the areas of scheduling and material planning.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and production scheduling.

Core Position Requirements:

• Must be self-directed and able to take on projects independently or within a team

• Ability to document processes and effectively communicate across several levels of the organization from shop floor operators to upper management

• Strong Microsoft skills including Word and Excel

• Experience with ERP software is plus

• LEAN/Six Sigma experience is a plus

  Additional Position Requirements:

Occasional overnight travel may be required for training or other needs

Frequent travel within 200 miles is possible

Moving materials and equipment that weigh 40lbs

Manual dexterity to operate digital equipment, including computers and machine controllers.

Exposure to and requirement to work on or around industrial equipment including switchgear/switchboards, Diesel and Gas generators, outdoors, around metal welding, forming, cutting and other industrial processes.

Qualifications:

• Student or recent graduate with BS/MS degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field

• Legally authorized to work in the US on an on-going basis without company sponsorship

• Valid driver’s license
