Universal Health Services Pharmacy Intern in ENID, Oklahoma

Position Summary:

Pharmacy Intern duties that may be performed by a licensed Intern while working in a licensed training area under the supervision of a preceptor. The licensed Intern may do any of the functions of a Pharmacist for which they have been trained with the exception of supervising technicians.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Interprets medication orders (verbal and written) and transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles accurately. Maintains accurate, complete pharmacy patient medication profiles under the direction of the pharmacist.

  • Maintains awareness of developments in pharmacy and healthcare that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into their practice.

  • Supports the pharmacy’s pharmacoeconomic efforts. Reviews the use of targeted medications for compliance with current pharmacoeconomic programs.

  • Monitors drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug reactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, adverse reactions and appropriateness of drug, dosage form, regimen route, and therapeutic duplications.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled and attending a Pharmacy school and maintaining a minimum of a “C” average or a graduate of an accredited school or college of pharmacy approved by the Board who has received an Oklahoma Intern Certificate from the Board.

  • Must be under the supervision of a preceptor in a licensed pharmacy or other professional practice site that has been approved as a training site by the Board of Pharmacy.

  • Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified times. Strong organizational skills are mandatory. Ability to cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in the workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities and solve problems. Fosters a team environment by providing orientation and training new team members.

  • Knowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
