Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer - Intern in Fort Worth, Texas

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking a Summer 2024 Intern Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will support existing project teams by documenting engineering design solutions (e.g. DODAF views), analyze the design of hardware solutions designed for multi-domain coordination and data-sharing, and implementing physical engineering solutions in operational environments, and gathering and analyze post-event data for presentations to leadership. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of the MATLAB programming platform, familiarity with web-based content updates and information-sharing strategies, and basic knowledge of engineering problem solving using computer-based methodologies. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university

• Willingness to work on-site in a lab environment

• Familiarity with the MATLAB programming platform

• Analytical thinking, engineering knowledge, and problem-solving skills

• Coursework in engineering problem solving using computer-based methodologies

• Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to work autonomously when provided work instructions

• Must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills:

• Proven leadership skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team

• Familiarity with web-based content updates and information-sharing strategies

• Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to work autonomously when provided work instructions

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
