Job Description
The Summer Internship Program allows students the opportunity to work on meaningful, business-essential projects that will give them the hands-on experience they need to build a solid foundation for their future. The program targets undergraduate students between their junior and senior year. As an intern, students will have the opportunity to participate in a formalized program, designed to increase knowledge of Cardinal Health and the healthcare industry, as well as develop essential leadership skills.
Work location: Fukuroi, Shizuoka, Japan
Duration: minimum 4 weeks (starting from Aug 2025 onwards)
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (full-time preferred)
Days off: Weekends and August 10–18
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation: ¥1,300/hour
Transportation: Fully covered by the company
Accommodation: Housing provided (arranged by the company)
Lunch is provided at the company cafeteria

As a Manufacturing Intern (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering) you could potentially support the organization in several of the following ways:
Identify, analyze, and implement new or improved technologies or processes
Develop, optimize, measure, and maintain performance and productivity
Participate on projects and the development of solutions related to safety, process improvement, quality, capacity balance, workflow, planning, and logistics
Participate in Opex (Six-Sigma/ Lean Six Sigma)
Accountabilities in this role:

Ability to prioritize requests effectively and understand importance and meet deadlines

Qualifications:
Cardinal Health recruits current, full-time students who have a combination of the following requirements:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field, preferred
Good English Communication skills
Recommended GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
Previous manufacturing environment experience a plus
Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills
Participation in extracurricular activities and/or community service
Must have unlimited work authorization in Japan

●インターンシップの目的
静岡県袋井市にある当社工場で実際にエンジニアとして就業経験いただき、日本市場向けに価値ある医療機器(カテーテル)の製造プロセスの改善、製品の改良、および新製品の量産化の関連業務を通じて、会社の雰囲気を感じていただける実務体験を含むプログラムです。
●インターンシップの実施内容
カテーテル、および付属品組立装置や組立補助具の改良活動体験
医療用カテーテルおよびその付属品は多品種少量生産のため、安定した一定品質の製品を製造するには熟練作業者の手作業に依存する機会が多く、作業の効率性だけでなくエルゴノミクスや作業の安全性も考慮した製造プロセスへ継続的に改善する必要があります。また、改善目的で実行した製造プロセスの変更が医療機器の有効性および安全性に影響を及ぼさない事の検証作業も改善活動計画に含める必要があります。そこで、今回のインターンシップでは、当社エンジニアと一緒に組立装置の改良、および改良後の各種検証や予防的メンテナンス作業を含む業務推進活動を体験していただきます。
●実施時期・期間
2025年8月上旬から9月中旬のうち、最低4週間以上 ※学業に配慮した日程、時間帯を相談可能
●就業日・就業時間
月~金8:00~16:30(基本はフルタイム)
土日、および8月10日~18日は休み
●待遇・報酬
有償:時給1,300円~
交通費:全額弊社負担
宿泊費:社宅適用(宿泊先は弊社にて手配)
昼食は社員食堂にて提供
●応募資格
学部:理工学部(機械系、電気系、電子情報系、生産工学系)
成績:GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0または同等の成績
英語力:日常会話レベル以上
