Job Summary
We are currently seeking a 2025 full-time summer intern, including potential for part-time employment during the semester, in the Regulatory Programs engineering group located at Dominion’s Innsbrook Technical Center in Glen Allen, VA. The group supports Dominion’s four nuclear power plant sites in Virginia, South Carolina, and Connecticut with Engineering Program management to ensure regulatory compliance. The individual in this role will work under the mentoring of experienced fleet engineers on an optimization initiative for the Dominion Nuclear Fleet Fire Protection (FP) program. This initiative will introduce a software solution for efficient program management and commonality across the Dominion Nuclear Fleet. Tasks associated with this effort are as outlined below:
Participate in the Fleet team consisting of Engineering, Information Technology, and the fire protection consulting firm (vendor) developing the software solution.
Research nuclear plant drawings and review FP program requirements, design information, and fire hazards analysis for the Dominion Nuclear Fleet.
Develop equipment locations and relationships in order to populate the software with the site-specific data required for program management.
Gain understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and identify key program aspects required to maintain compliance.
Assist the project team in working through challenges associated with implementing a fleet-wide software solution.
Support the transition to a common software platform at each site across the fleet.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Ability to effectively operate a personal and workstation computer, including standard Microsoft applications.
Ability to define problems, collect information, evaluate data, draw valid conclusions, and develop solutions in a time-critical environment.
Ability to maintain a professional orientation, communicate effectively in both written and oral forms, and work effectively in team and independently under own initiative.
Education Requirements
Working toward a four-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
majoring in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering
Must be graduating in May 2027 or later
GPA of 3.0 or higher
