What you will do:

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers on real-world projects that impact the development of Hyster-Yale’s advanced material-handling equipment. This internship will provide hands-on experience in electrical engineering principles, testing, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting engineers in the development of Three-Wheel Stand and Order Selector programs.

  • Troubleshooting existing forklift trucks by diagnosing and resolving electrical system issues.

  • Gaining hands-on experience with analog circuit analysis, motors, harnesses, and multimeters.

  • Learning to operate forklift trucks to better understand their electrical systems.

  • Working collaboratively with engineers on design improvements and efficiency optimization.

  • Supporting engineers with routine tasks to improve departmental efficiency.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and ready to take on challenges.

What you will need:

  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Standing as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college.

  • Basic engineering knowledge (analog circuit analysis, motors, harnesses, and multimeter use) - willingness to learn is key!

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and analysis.

  • A strong interest in hands-on work and troubleshooting.
