Job Description
At the R&D of Danfoss Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Controls, we are currently looking for an intern (m/f/d) focusing on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Ansys . This role provides hands-on experience in simulation-driven engineering, contributing to topics such as material modeling, competency development, and accuracy improvement. You will join an international and diverse team of simulation specialists and engineers at the heart of Hamburg HafenCity . You will have the opportunity to solve challenging problems in R&D and develop your own expertise.
Job Responsibilities
This internship will allow you to strengthen your technical expertise in FEA, work with cutting-edge simulation tools, and enhance your analytical and programming skills. Your tasks may include:
Developing and refining simulation methodologies in Ansys.
Implementing material models and validating their performance through simulation and experimental data comparison.
Enhancing simulation accuracy through model calibration and optimization.
Improving material modeling and simulation workflows using Python, APDL, or other scripting tools.
Conducting literature reviews and benchmarking studies to improve simulation competencies.
Documenting findings and presenting progress within the team.

For this position, you need to be studying for a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, computational mechanics, materials engineering , or a similar field . We are also looking for the following qualifications:
Knowledge in Structural Mechanics, Mechanics of Materials and FEA.
Familiarity with Ansys Mechanical and APDL for FEA-based simulations.
Basic programming skills in Python, APDL, or other relevant languages.
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Motivation to work in a multicultural team.
Excellent English communication skills.
