Reference #: 4383544 THE POSITION Department of Environmental Protection Internships provide an exciting opportunity for students to learn about and assist with the environmental protection activities of various program areas within the agency working towards our mission to protect Pennsylvania's air, land and water from pollution and provide for the health and safety of its citizens through a cleaner environment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an intern in this role, you will have the opportunity to acquire hands-on experience in the reception and examination of laboratory samples, as well as the documentation of laboratory data pertaining to environmental testing. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the retrieval, recording, and distribution of samples across different sections of the laboratory. You will also be involved in waste disposal procedures and contribute to the analysis of environmental samples, ensuring adherence to basic quality control measures, and maintaining accurate laboratory records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time internship. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Employment period: May 1, 2024, to August 30, 2024. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current full-time enrollment in a full-time bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in an acceptable major. Freshman year completed. Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher). Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.

Additional Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
