Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Traffic Signals Asset Management Intern (College) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4314386 THE POSITION We are currently seeking an intern to join the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Bureau of Operations to help manage the Traffic Signal Asset Management System (TSAMS), which is the sole system for tracking traffic signals and ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) throughout the Commonwealth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing data for traffic signal systems and ITS, and inputting it into TSAMS. This process helps identify maintenance requirements, plot proposed devices for Regional Operational Plans, and make informed decisions regarding traffic operations needs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements: Must be a high school graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a full-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary education program for the fall semester You must be in good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).

You must be at least 18 years of age. Special Requirement: Certain positions require verification of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License Preferred Majors (not required): Computer Science Civil Engineering Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
