We are looking for GIS students who can assist us in performing Geological Information Systems (GIS) and data scanning tasks to help us transition to publicly accessible web-based data sources. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position you will be responsible for scanning historical highway transfer documents and maps, performing testing and quality control on applications, and reporting data discrepancies. You may also conduct research and outreach on public transportation routes and pickup sites, as well as recreational trail sites. In addition, you may also assist in the creation of prototypes to aid in the transition to GIS based maps from MicroStation format.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Must be a high school graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a full-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary education program for the fall semester You must be in good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher). You must be at least 18 years of age. Special Requirement: Certain positions require verification of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License

Preferred Majors (not required): Statistics Geography GIS Planning Mathematics Geology

Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
