Akima NANA Shareholder College Summer Intern – EMG Business Operations in Herndon, Virginia
Akima LLC and its Emerging Markets Group (EMG) business unit is seeking a Summer Intern to assist with its business operations & growth teams for various project planning and coordination needs. EMG is one of Akima Business Units responsible for providing cutting edge technical capabilities to the U.S. Federal Government to improve national security and end-user experience of the Government’s services. Examples of EMG’s services include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, and Cloud Computing.
The summer intern will have an opportunity to support EMG’s various initiatives to improve business operations and accelerate growth. This individual gain practical experience working on challenging, meaningful projects while interfacing with many levels of management across Akima’s operating companies and departments. Microsoft (MS) Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Teams (Chat/collaboration), and SharePoint are examples of the main tools that will be used daily. Training will be provided for tools, processes, or any specific knowledge required to perform the required tasks.
Undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in any academic disciplines with strong interest or desire to learn about federal contracting business is encouraged to apply.
NOTE: To be considered for this position, you must be a NANA Shareholder and own stock in “NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.” and/or direct descendant of a NANA Shareholder. You must currently be enrolled in college or technical/vocational school
Responsibilities
Helps launch new business initiatives and provide support from planning to completion
Assists in development of reports and documents to business operations and growth activities to include editing, formatting, and reviewing document drafts
Conducts research and analysis of topics related to EMG’s business interests as requested
Performs data collection, maintenance of the files, and routine reporting using MS Office Suite
Performs change management of existing EMG documentations in MS SharePoint
Facilitates communication with various stakeholders via email and in-person/virtual meetings
Attends and participates in in routine and ad-hoc business meetings, training, team events, briefs, and other meetings, and compile/distribute meetings notes as requested
Prepares presentations and give briefs to varying audience
Qualifications
Must be a NANA Shareholder and own stock in “NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.” and/or direct descendant of a NANA Shareholder
Undergraduate or graduate student
Desire to gain exposure/learn about business operations in federal environment
Basic to Intermediate knowledge of the MS Office Suite (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability and willingness to work with a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability and willingness to work in a fast-faced, deadline driven environment
