ManTech Talent Incubator Internship Program in Herndon, Virginia

Secure our Nation, Ignite your Future

Summary

ManTech is seeking an aspiring IT Professional to join our Talent Incubator Internship Program. The Talent Incubator Program was developed to provide a pipeline of qualified IT Professionals to support our customers missions (i.e. Intelligence, Defense, Federal/Civilian). Individuals in the program will spend 1-2 years gaining experience & certifications while their security clearance is processing, then transition to support the customer’s mission.

Each candidate will work with our Talent Incubator Program Manager to align your career aspirations with our customers talent needs and requirements. You’ll jointly develop a transition program, consisting of gaining experience in certain areas (i.e. cyber security), certifications (i.e. Security+), and any other requirements necessary to support the customer and your future.

Responsibilities

The Talent Incubator Internship Program is a year-round program, allowing you to work as much as you’re able while mainlining your active course load. The expectation is that you’d work near full time during summer breaks and as available during the semester. Ideally, we’d hope that you can join a weekly team meeting and stay engaged via Slack during your school week. As technology is constantly evolving and several projects are always underway, this will allow you to stay engaged with the team so you can dive back in after your spring semester.

As we believe customer service is foundational to all IT careers, candidates will begin on our End User Success, First Touch Support Team, fielding calls and support tickets from our users (Phase 1). During this time, candidates will be exposed to a wide range of IT support requests and will gain a familiarity with ManTech IT Systems. There will also be time allotted for group project work, working towards your certifications, etc. This phase will last 6-12 months, and any defined requirements must be met before transitioning to the next phase of the program (i.e. Network+ Certification).

In Phase 2, you’re assigned to Subject Matter Expert (SME) Team(s) specific to your career path (i.e. Network Support / Cyber Security). You’ll spend the next 6-12 months focusing on tasks and projects related to your future field. Similarly, any defined requirements must be met before transitioning to the next phase of the program (i.e. Security+ Certification).

Lastly, in Phase 3 and prior to transitioning to the customer, you’ll be transferred to the department aligned with your future career (i.e. Cyber Security Department), where you’ll continue learning and gaining experience as a member of that Department (i.e. working within the SOC).

Once you receive your clearance, you’ll transition to the customer and begin the next chapter in your career. This may even occur prior to graduation!

We’re looking for candidates who love technology and want to help us secure our nation, solving their toughest homeland and national security challenges – cost-efficiently, at speed, where our customers are – land, sea, air, space, cyberspace and everywhere in-between.
