Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

As an Intern, you will engage in a yearlong comprehensive internship to learn about our Student Lending business and what it takes to achieve success as a member of our team. You will learn how the business functions from all aspects of sales, service, underwriting, training, and quality control. Primary job duties will be to the sales and service department, but you will also learn about and have an opportunity to participate in other department’s functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Respond to applicants’ inbound inquires via phone, text, and email regarding ELFI products.

  • Provide world-class customer service focusing on initial call resolution.

  • Document every correspondence with applicants and borrowers clearly and concisely.

  • Perform outbound outreach to applicants and work with the Student Loan Advisors team to successfully move applications through the sales process to funding.

  • Perform audits to ensure data provided by applicants at submission is accurate and the request meets ELFI specifications pursuant to SOP’s

  • Participate in outbound Marketing Campaigns

  • Verify identity, income, and other required documentation.

  • Analyze customer financial documentation.

  • Assist senior team members of other departments with tasks as needed.

  • Perform credit/fintech research and present findings to management.

  • Actively participate and communicate in team-based work groups.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING:

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently applying analytical skills required to manage reviewing tasks.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Self-starter, highly motivated and able to complete work independently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail

  • High level of curiosity for learning new skills and products/programs
