Job Purpose:
Seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Proposal Management Intern to support our team in preparing competitive, high-quality proposals for locomotive and aftermarket development projects. This internship offers hands-on experience in proposal development, strategic bidding, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. Working alongside the product and engineering divisions, this role provides an opportunity to explore multiple facets of an established global OEM and develop an understanding of how proposals impact business growth and strategy.

Key Job Elements:
• Assist in the gathering, development, and organization of proposal content as directed by the Proposal Manager, including technical and commercial responses.
• Attend bid strategy sessions to practice critical analysis of customer requirements, product approach, and competitive landscape.
• Support the preparation of presentation materials for executive gate approvals.
• Assist with process optimization initiatives, including projects related to content libraries, proposal data analytics, and archive maintenance.
• Collaborate with product management to gather and generate a comprehensive product portfolio
• Practice reviewing proposals for compliance with RFP (Request for Proposal) requirements.
• Perform administrative tasks such as updating templates, packaging data, taking notes, and tracking action items.
Qualifications and Experience:
Core Competencies:
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office
Preferred Competencies:
• Transcript featuring courses focused on Business Strategy, Finance, Economics, Data Analysis, Project Management, Marketing, and/or Composition
• Previous experience developing marketing materials for B2B sales
Physical Requirements
• Strength – This is a traditional office setting and may require the occasional lifting objects up to 40lbs.
• Motion – This is a traditional office setting and requires the use of a computer, keyboard and other equipment. Employee will be sitting most of the day with occasional walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and driving.
• Vision/Hearing Requirements – Must be able to communicate with coworkers and utilize all office equipment.
• Work Environment – Work is in office setting and not exposed to extremes temperatures.
• Emotional Demands – Employee is expected to quickly pick up tasks in a fast-paced office environment and may be required to give presentations, speak in public, and work on teams.
• Safety – This is not a safety sensitive position. The position will require the use of all site-specific PPE.
Hourly rate will be determined based on major and credit hours completed at start of internships. Transcripts will be requested.
