Our forecast work includes everything from 5-minute real time forecast systems for electric grid operation to forecasts that extend as far as 30-year out to support long-term electric load capacity planning. Working with a team of energy forecasting experts, you will help us with providing data analysis, predictive analytics/statistical modelling, training, and content to support a global client base. As part of the forecast team, you will help support our real-time grid-operation forecasting applications and other forecasting products. You will also help develop long-term sales, revenue, and demand forecasts to support our clients' financial and resource planning requirements. This work will involve developing statistical models, analyzing historical sales trends, addressing the electric and gas impact of economic activity, energy efficiency, climate change, and market penetration of new technologies. Duties & Responsibilities As an Intern - Forecast Data Analyst you will assist the forecasting team with: * Supporting to customer software and modeling issues * Developing data inputs to support forecast models * Estimating forecast models using Itron's forecast modeling software * Assisting with forecasts and related analysis and trainings Required Skills & Experience * Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) * Experience completing data analysis * Experience using Excel, Matlab, R/Python, or other statistical modelling and data manipulation tools and related workplace computer tools * Self-starter and willing to work collaboratively with a small team * Capable of working independently and with remote team members across different time zones * Enrolled in a related academic program or equivalent job experience Preferred Skills & Experience * Completed related courses, such as econometrics, statistics, calculus, data, and economic theory, etc * Prior related experience Physical Demands & Travel This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.
