We are looking for an engineering intern to join our growing team in the Advanced Engineering team for the Spring Semester of 2024. This position will be located on-site in Livonia, MI.

Advanced Engineering Highlight Reel

As an Advanced Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Support design efforts utilizing Solidworks
  • Support build/assembly efforts
  • Diagnose problems and conduct root cause analysis
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups and fabrication shop
  • Support product development testing
  • Work on unique engineering problems and challenge your engineering skills
  • Apply your academic knowledge to real world engineering challenges
  • Tackle unique challenges never taken on before

To be considered an Advanced Engineering Intern, you will need:

  • Must be able to work a 40+ hour work week
  • Must currently be pursuing a Bachelors' degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Mechatronics preferred
  • Engineering interns must have a minimum sophomore standing
  • Must be proficient in MS Office
  • Must have a strong desire to learn engineering system design & development, or manufacturing as it is related to the automotive industry
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving history
  • Must love working on vehicles and/or mechanical systems
  • Must be able to think outside the box and enjoy research and development type activities
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Formula SAE/Baja experience strongly preferred
  • Hands-on automotive/mechanical diagnosis and repair experience strongly preferred
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks, Catia V5/V6 or similar)
  • Prior internship experience in an automotive related environment strongly preferred
  • Have an interest in electric and autonomous vehicles and technology
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission
