Power Markets Intern

What you’ll do

The Power Markets, Europe team plays a critical role in developing, negotiating, securing and managing revenue streams for LSbp’s project pipeline of solar, wind and storage across Europe. As a Power Markets Intern, you will work alongside the team to support various activities in market analysis, financial modeling, and strategy development. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector and develop a solid understanding of power markets and commercial strategies used in solar development.

Duties and Responsibilities

Market Analysis:

• Assist in tracking power market prices, regulations, and trends across European markets.

• Help prepare regular reports on market developments.

• Support in creating presentations to communicate market trends and opportunities.

Competitor and Market Strategy Support:

• Help with research on competitor activities and market opportunities.

• Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting to help with sales opportunities.

Pricing Support:

• Assist in model different price structures for the definition of pricing strategies for pricing offtake agreements, auctions participation for RES and Energy Battery Storage.

• Assist in gathering pricing data for PPAs and auction processes.

Internship Details

Pay rate: 13.85 per hour

Hours: 37.5 per week

Dates of internship: June 2nd through August 22nd

Location: Lightsource bp London office

Who we’re looking for

Knowledge

• Currently pursuing a degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong interest in the energy sector, particularly renewable energy and power markets.

• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of data analysis tools is a plus.

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
