The organization manages the relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express and runs the company’s payment network and manages bank partnerships globally.

The Global Strategy & Capabilities (GS&C) group sits within GMNS. GS&C’s mission is to become essential to merchants and partners globally by delivering an easy, frictionless, value-added experience that enables them to meet their goals and serve their customers.  GS&C consists of a diverse set of teams that support the GMNS business. Risk Advisory and Legal Entity Governance is a new organization within the GS&C, responsible for supporting our acquiring businesses across 30 countries and ensuring they have a robust first line of defense. The Risk Advisory and Legal Entity Governance team plays an active role in ensuring the business meets their growth objectives by providing risk expertise across all operational risk pillars to the GMNS Front Line and Control Management areas to facilitate comprehensive identification and management of operational and regulatory risk/changes. Our organization assesses the optimal risk mitigation in support of business growth initiatives, and supporting our Legal Entities manage non-financial risk.

The Intern, Risk Advisory & Legal Entity Governance AEPE Legal Entity will:

Support the Risk Advisory and Legal Entity Governance team of AEPE by

  • Gaining experience analyzing outsourcing reporting metrics and ensurelearnings areappropriatelyescalatedthrough the Legal Entity Governance layers. Includesbutisnot limited to tracking reporting to Bank of Spain, ensuringimportant performance metricsdeviations are timelyescalated, support with outsourcing documentationasneeded.

  • Familiarise with the Improvementprocess of Legal Entity Governance visibility on Third Party Data, by building risk visibility (e.g. third parties suchasAcquiring Service Providers) by collaborating with variousareasthathavepartialviews on the associated risk, in order to build a holistic and consolidatedvisualization.

  • Familiarise with the preparation and coordination of decks and meetings: committees, business unit reviews, amongothers.Includes following up with Subject matter experts to ensure appropriate updated risk assessment is performed on Committee items.

  • Support theAcquireexperience in the standardization of the report to the legalentitybranches, includingbutnot limited to- report analysis and extraction, creation of charts, consistent reports to bringbetter risk oversight

  • Support the documentation maintenance and appropriate storage of the AEPE Risk, Issues and Change tracker

Desirable Qualifications/Skills & Experience:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office pack, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Power BI knowledge

  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

  • Duration: 6 months internship with potential 6 months renewal

  • Hours: 35 hours per week

For Recent Graduate Students:

Alongside your internship you will be enrolled on programme coordinated by Fundación Universidad Empresa (FUE). This programme will allow students to focus on productivity, adaptive management and innovation, to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, collaborating directly on the management and optimization of commercial processes. The student will develop essential skills in project management, data analysis, and negotiation, which are critical for future integration into the labor market.

To enroll the programme, the candidate must have completed the degree or due to submit the final degree project, or the final degree project plus 9 ECTS max.

For Undergraduate Students:

If you are an undergraduate student, your university will need to agree that you can commit to 35hours per week, please ensure you check this with your university prior to applying.
