Job Summary:

As a Pharmacy Intern with HCA, you will play a pivotal role in supporting daily pharmacy operations and ensuring the smooth flow of medication procurement, preparation, delivery, and restocking. You will actively participate in formulary and inventory management processes, prepare intravenous admixtures, and maintain effective communication channels with both internal and external customers to facilitate exceptional customer service. Additionally, you will be responsible for understanding and utilizing automated pharmacy equipment and software, while also assisting in various learning activities and other assigned duties.

What you will do in this role:

• You will assist in the performance of daily pharmacy tasks, including procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of medications.

• You will participate in the formulary and inventory management process to ensure efficient medication supply.

• You will prepare intravenous admixtures with precision and adherence to protocols.

• You will facilitate customer service through effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

• You will demonstrate proficiency in using automated pharmacy equipment and software.

• You will actively participate in learning activities and assist with other duties as assigned by management.

• You will prepare both non-sterile compounds and sterile intravenous compounds

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Knowledge of general pharmacy practices and procedures

• Interpersonal skills for effective communication within and outside the department

• This is a year round position, only candidates that are currently located in the Nashville area or attending school in Nashville full-time will be considered

• Enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy with a plan to graduate with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree within the next 3-4 years
