Eaton Corporation Electronics Design Intern - 13 Month Placement in Nottingham, United Kingdom

Eaton in Sutton has an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Design Engineer Intern who will be involved in the Design of New Products in conjunction with a Senior Engineer who will act as a mentor for the duration of the internship.

What you’ll do:

  • Strive to gain & maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques and methods.

  • Ensure the adoption of "Best practice" engineering to solving the design and manufacturing challenges commensurate with time and cost targets.

  • Work on own initiative, be self-starting and proactive.

  • Use of appropriate CAD packages for Schematic and PCB design applications

  • Safe use of R&D Laboratory facilities for product testing and evaluation.

  • Technical Report Writing

  • Generation of designs that achieve prime cost, functionality, quality and manufacturability targets.

  • To support in ensuring developments are completed on time and within budget and to specification.

  • To take an active part in peer and formal design reviews as required.

  • To contribute, be involved and actively support the continuous improvement process within every facet of the organization.

  • To contribute, be involved and actively support any supplementary activities required as part of the Eaton internship for example charity or wellness events.

Qualifications:

  • Studying for Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering

Skills:

  • Computer literate – office applications & internet

  • Able to work independently

  • Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines

  • Demonstrates a high level of motivation, flexibility and team spirit

  • Flexible to travel in line with business need (within UK and overseas)

  • Demonstrates attention to detail

  • Can-do attitude
