Location: Remote – must reside in a KP Market (California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia or Washington DC)

Department Description: National Claims Administration

ASTRO is Kaiser Permanente’s team focused on pushing the technological limits of our medical claims business processes and systems to reduce costs, improve quality, and improve the experience for our members, providers, and employees. Where others have said no, it can’t be done, our team is there to think critically and creatively about the problem to come to a solution. We lead projects and provide SME support to affiliated teams, often performing in depth analysis of claims data utilizing reports/tools such as Oracle SQL Server, Tableau, and PowerBI. We partner with business and technical teams on these projects and our ability to interface seamlessly with both is critical to our success. With the data and business knowledge to support our initiatives we then develop the configuration requirements for our Epic Tapestry platform, UiPath bots, and related systems.

Project Description:

PowerBI development of reports/dashboards/alerts to assist with identifying automation, cost savings, and quality opportunities

Wiki/FAQ/Chatbot tool development with a goal of providing a self-help tool to teams throughout the organization. The tool would be able to provide answers to common questions about claims processing sourcing information from multiple documentation sites as well as provide guidance on where/what to do next in cases where additional follow-up is needed.

Writing Clarity/SQL reports to assist with fraud/waste analysis and opportunity identification.

Desired Majors: Data Science, Computer Science, Math/Statistics

Preferred Skillsets:

SQL, Dashboard Development (Power BI preferred), PowerApps (nice to have), Interest in knowledge sharing and working collaboratively with others

    Additional Requirements:

  • Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3.0 GPA or above.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
