Job Description

SoarTech is looking for a part or full time Project management Intern who is interested in helping support the management of our research, development, and implementation of this exciting technology into everyday operations. This position will be responsible for supporting members of the PMO on various tasking ranging from project initiation to project close-out. This role assists with daily project needs to ensure optimal coordination, tracking, and reporting. Assists with attending and facilitating project-related meetings, helping create and communicate meeting agendas, record meeting minutes, track and follow up on action items, and assist with data entry tasking. This is an entry-level position where the individual will be able to apply business administration fundamentals, concepts, and procedures that will expand their knowledge into workforce level experience. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports project manager efforts to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.

  • Participates in project team meetings and manages project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored.

  • Evaluates potential problems and issues and suggests solutions.

  • Assist with current projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track.

  • Prepare project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails.

  • Assists with quality reviews, contractual deliverables, documentation, and milestones.

  • Aids in monitoring and tracking deliverables.

  • Prepares status reports for project financial/technical components for review by internal/external stakeholders.

  • Supports other general duties required by the Program Management Office.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree or in progress degree in management, administration, accounting, or a related field.

  • Must be detailed oriented, capable of taking detailed meeting notes, and enjoy a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to collaborate with team members to plan and complete projects.

  • Able to balance and prioritize daily responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

  • Demonstrated professional maturity.

  • Expertise using MS Office toolset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience working with geographically distributed team.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

    Preferred Skills

  • Previous work experience in management, administration, accounting, or another relevant field.

  • An advanced degree in a related field.

  • Prior experience with defense research organizations.

  • An active Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance.

    Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
