DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: 2024 Summer Geology Internship - Industrial Hygiene Laboratory

PSI, an Intertek company, is searching for a Geology Intern to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile environmental career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!

The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the environmental, engineering and construction industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site.

What you'll do:  * Sample Processing and Preparation  * Assist with Reporting  * Assist with Quality Control Activities  * Learn techniques used for analyzing air and bulk samples for asbestos  * Support laboratory operations for an accredited industrial hygiene laboratory

What it takes to be successful in this role:  * High School Diploma / GED required  * Current student in Geology (preferred) /Environmental Science/ General Science or applicable major required  * No experience required - We will train!  * Knowledge of microscopy a plus!  * Must be able to read and understand standard operating procedures  * Must be able to work off shifts and overtime
