DESCRIPTION
This Position Pays: $18/ Hour
About the Position
The intern for this position will work in Public Works Engineering & Construction Services (ECS) assisting Engineering Analysts and Technical Specialists to administer roadway construction contracts throughout Lane County.
Typical duties include:
Confirming work is performed in accordance with plans and specifications.
Completing reports, taking photos, and completing other documentation related to construction progress
Measuring quantities of work performed to document payments
Assisting with soil, concrete, and asphalt testing
About the Division
ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION SERVICES - SURVEY:
The County Surveyor’s Office is located within the Engineering & Construction Services Division of Lane County Public Works. The Surveyor’s Office provides property and road information support for individuals, landowners, consultants and government entities seeking survey information and documentation in Lane County. The Office also processes and reviews Land Survey/Plat related submissions for recording and filing from private and public Land Surveyors practicing in Lane County.
Schedule : Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. overtime may be required
This is a non-represented position
*Extra Help employees may work up to a maximum of 520 hours per fiscal year beginning July 1, and ending June 30.
QUALIFICATIONS
Training & Experience:
The ideal candidate would have good math and science background and have interest in pursuing a career in engineering or construction.
Special Requirements:
This position requires the ability to work on uneven surfaces, around heavy equipment, and be exposed to loud noise.
DRIVER’S LICENSE:
Must be in possession of a valid driver's license at time of application, and a valid Oregon Driver's license by time of appointment.
