Seattle Children's Summer Non-Clinical Internship - Clinical Analytics in REMOTE, Washington

This position is temporary and/or intermittent in nature. Length of service is greater than 100 hours. This will be a hybrid work experience, with an in-person presence required for onsite activities to provide valuable exposure to operational environment.

Hospital Analytics focuses on providing access to high-quality, integrated, and enriched data, analytic tools, and training that supports various aspects of patient care and safety across Seattle Children’s. The team supports various departments with data science, data engineering, and analytics that enhance their ability to transform care, grow and accelerate research, and engage and enrich the communities we serve.

Our team is seeking an intern to join our Hospital Analytics delivery team, where they will collaborate closely with clinicians and leaders. The intern will contribute to the development of data science solutions encompassing data analyses, data science platforms, predictive modeling, model pipeline orchestration, model deployment, and cloud services etc. Alternatively, they may delve into creating ETL solutions, building front-end applications for machine learning models, and monitoring production models with the aim of supporting clinical workflows and improving patient outcomes and experience.

Potential projects for the intern may span various areas such as patient volume predictive modeling, advanced statistical analysis of patient cohorts, development of clinical diagnostic tools, and retrospective analysis of implemented machine learning models. Through this internship, the participant will acquire a foundational understanding of data science within the context of Seattle Children’s. They will learn to proficiently use associated tools and cultivate technical skills and competencies in these fields.

An ideal candidate brings dedication, creativity, and curiosity to this work. Training will include an orientation to Seattle Children’s, the Hospital Analytics department, and related technology and programming. This role will provide opportunities for mentorship, meaningful skill development, and career exploration for those interested in learning about a potential career in data science at a large health care organization.

Compensation: $23/hr.

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
