The internship program has an opening for a Cash Management Intern who is ready for new and exciting challenges in a fast-paced environment.

The Cash Management On-going Internship provides hands-on experience and allows you to apply Cash Management related concepts and principles to develop the core competencies needed to succeed in a business environment. The goal of the Cash Management On-going Internship program is to train, invest, and prepare students for future full-time employment and real-world experience with daily bank administration, disbursements and receipts processing functions.

The On-going Internship will begin Summer 2024 and will continue for a minimum of one year, contingent upon performance. This is an onsite internship located in San Antonio, TX.

Major Accountabilities depending on the Operational area which you may be assigned:

Bank Administration:

• Assists with bank administration, verifications, compliance and reporting.
• Assists with budgeting and account analysis.

• Assists with special projects as needed.

  Disbursements and Reconciliations:

• Assists with check processing and maintaining machinery in Cash Room.

• Assists with wire transfer and ACH operations for all countries.
• Assists with posting tax credit, direct debit, journal entries and return items in SAP.
• Assists with vendor bank updates, compliance, reporting and SAP testing.
• Assists with daily EBS processing and GL line item reporting for all countries.
• Assists with researching reconciling items on bank statements.
• Assists with special projects as needed.

Receipts:

• Assists with recording of cash receipts in SAP for all countries.
• Assists with lockbox processes.
• Assists with confirmation or wire receipts to assist cash forecasting.
• Assists with customer bank updates.
• Assists with SAP bank update review.
• Assists with special projects as needed.

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Accounting, Finance or related field required. * Graduation date between May 2025 – May 2026 required. * Able and willing to work at least 20 hours a week during the spring and fall school semesters (January-May and August- December) required. * Able and willing to work 40 hours a week during the summer required. * Candidates are required to live within commuting distance of San Antonio, TX during the year-long internship. * Able and willing to work in-person at the Valero San Antonio Headquarters, required. * Obtained at least 60 credit hours by May 2024 required. * Overall GPA of a 3.0 (or higher) on a 4.0 system preferred.
