Work Schedule: Students must be able to work a minimum of 10-15 hours every two weeks during the business hours of 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Within these parameters, hours are flexible with school schedules.

Note: To be an intern, a student must be a full-time college student (12 credits or more) and is able to remain employed through the end of the pay period in which they graduate.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be handling the preparatory work for estimate requests and correspondence, coordinating scheduling of retirement exit counseling sessions, as well as reviewing documents to ensure accuracy. You will have the opportunity to greet and address concerns of walk-ins with non-counseling issues or greet counseling appointments when other staff are tied up with regular work. You will be responsible for providing invaluable assistance with data entry into the system such as the inputting for generation of retirement estimates. Additional potential duties of this position include: Copies and collates materials and provides basic preparatory work for the retirement counseling presentations Scans documents so that they are imaged in the system Files paperwork and shreds documents Takes/keeps inventory of forms and supplies Sending out routine member letters regarding appointments, retirement applications and benefit summary letters Postage/Mailing duties and responds to routine inquiries such as income verifications Assists with office organization In the small staff regional offices, keeps the field office open during lunch time when staff is limited due to meetings outside the office Other routine clerical tasks as directed to free counselors and retirement technicians for essential functions Answers telephones Manually creates the reports for over 700 employers each year for timely distribution Supports the Management Analyst with the documentation of business procedures Gathers salary, contribution, service, and other related reporting components to aid the regional rep in the confirmation of reported data

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours vary between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: You must be a fulltime student (12 credits for undergraduates and 9 credits for graduate students) enrolled in a post-secondary education program for the next semester. You must be in good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 or higher). You must be at least eighteen years of age. This position requires computer proficiency. You must have customer service experience that encompassed interacting with others in a professional manner. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
