AIR's 2024 Virtual Summer Internship Program is designed to identify, attract, and hire the best talent that will drive creativity and innovation while enabling the organization to create a diverse and skilled talent pool. Spanning 10 - 12 weeks, AIR's paid summer program provides Interns with various learning and networking opportunities that enhance their skillset and build lasting professional connections. Join AIR as a Research Intern with our Youth, Family, and Community Development program to foster equitable pathways for young people, families, and communities to thrive. Our research and evaluation and technical assistance work is strengths-based, with a cross-sector approach involving collaboration with programs, providers, and systems in these content areas: Public Health, Schools, and Communities (community engagement, comprehensive safety in schools and in communities, mental health promotion and school-based mental health services, school discipline, social determinants of health, suicide prevention, trauma-informed care and approaches, and violence prevention) Thriving Youth & Justice Systems (adolescent science, criminal justice and policing, intergenerational supports for families impacted by the justice system, juvenile justice, re-entry and supports, restorative justice, social justice, youth engagement, and youth led movements) Whole Child Learning & Development in K-12 Educational Settings (conditions for learning, mindsets and mindfulness, restorative practices, school climate, science of learning and development, and social and emotional learning and related frameworks) Youth Development & Family Engagement (arts, community schools, family engagement, nature and environmental education, out-of-school time, sports, youth engagement, and youth leadership development). Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations.This does not include U.S. territories.
