The successful candidate will work alongside and learn from the professional team of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and Integration Engineers at the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation. Typical team and individual tasks involve programming, testing, setup, virtualization, containerization, and integration of a broad array of simulation and modeling tools (including constructive, analytical, and virtual reality) in support of the Center for Innovation. This role will support multiple ongoing projects applying the CFI M&S tools as well as an introduction to integrating and applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms in the Center for Innovation environments and activities such as wargames, workshops, experiments, and demonstrations. The candidate will be based at the Center for Innovation in Suffolk, VA.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

• Some proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages

• Must be a US citizen

Desired Skills:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with full-stack development

• Experience with AI large language models or similar concepts and frameworks

• Ability to work in a collaborative and team based environment

• Strong interpersonal skills, integrity, teamwork, energy and flexibility

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
