Legal Services Intern
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is currently seeking a law student who has completed their first or second year of law school to join its corporate Legal Services Department for a summer internship. The internship provides the opportunity to work in a POWER office, or the position can be hybrid with some work time spent in the office expected over the summer. Applicants who will reside during the summer in the Boise, Idaho area or the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area are encouraged to apply, as this internship offers mentorship opportunities with Contract Specialists from POWER’s Legal Services Department that reside in these locations.
The intern will work with POWER Engineers, Member of WSP's, Contract Specialist team to review, prepare, and negotiate contracts, as well as to complete projects related to contract administration as may be assigned.
This will be a paid internship starting in May or June of 2025, depending on availability, with the potential to stay on part-time during the school year. Additionally, please note the following:
Applicant must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer; and
Applicant must submit a writing sample at least 4 pages in length that is solely prepared and edited by the applicant.
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and completion of at least one year of law school
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to focus on details while working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multi-task while working under tight deadlines
Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
Desired Education/Experience:
An understanding of and interest in contract law and business organizations.
This position will not require a Rule 226 Limited Intern License.
