EXOS Physical Therapy Intern in United States

Job Summary:

The Exos Physical Therapy Internship is a highly competitive placement that occurs a year in advance from the desired clinical rotation date. Current physical therapy students complete an application that is sent to the clinical education staff at their school. Those applications are sent out in January of each year, due by March 1 of the same year, and students are interviewed and selected by the end of April. This job posting is for those selected students to complete onboarding as a new Exos team member. If you are not one of these pre-selected interns, you will need to go through the application process through your physical therapy program’s clinical education team. More information about the application process can be found by emailing zachary.mitchell@teamexos.com.

Our Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department at Exos is a practice built on ethical success, and operates under APTA guidelines, including the practice of clinically-based evidence. However, it is not a “traditional, orthopedic out-patient setting”. While we use all the fundamental skills of Physical Therapy, we utilize a unique model of integrated training and rehabilitation techniques in order to help our athletes return to optimal health quickly and efficiently.

Internship Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, ideally a 3rd year student

  • Must be in a program accepting college credit in exchange for an internship experience as this is an unpaid internship

  • Have at least one prior outpatient orthopedic clinical rotation

  • Have an athletic training, strength and conditioning, and/or collegiate athlete background

  • Have a desire to work with the active/athletic population

  • Eligible to work in the USA

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday.

  • Frequent walking and demonstrating/assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and squatting are movements performed daily.
