LOCATION: Wausau, WI

The Quality Intern is a 10-week paid summer internship that will work within the Industrial Engineering team under the guidance and supervision of the Quality Manager. The intern will be working with the Quality Manager for the duration of the internship assisting with several projects in the plant. The internship is an onsite role that will be based out of our Wausau location.
The internship program begins June 3rd and will go until August 8th.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
Work with the Quality Manager and key members of the Quality Staff to gain exposure to day-to-day management of a food manufacturing factory.
Train with lab personnel, production team members, quality coordinators, and quality systems
Continually work on encompassing project focused on incoming raw material quality
Learn and understand dairy/food manufacturing processes
Learn and understand the Lactalis engineering function and DA process
Participate in regular production meetings to understand the Plant’s daily operation

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Candidate will possess or be pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in a science based degree program with a desire to work in the food manufacturing sector
Proficient in MS Office
Strong analytical skills
Proactive and results-oriented in a time-sensitive environment
Strong oral and written communication skills, including reporting and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain flexibility in an ever-changing environment
