Ametek Inc. IT Business Analyst Intern in Wayne, New Jersey

Vision Research is a Business Unit in the Materials Analysis Division of AMETEK, Inc. Vision Research manufactures industry leading high-speed digital cameras. Our cameras are primarily sold into industrial, academic, defense and government research facilities. We also have a smaller entertainment oriented camera business. Although not our primary focus, Vision Research has received both an Academy Award and an Emmy for our technical contribution to the entertainment industry. Position Summary:

This Business Analyst position will report to the Director and is expected to interact with and support the Vision IT, Finance and Operations staff. The successful candidate will work independently or with team members to analyze and resolve technical project issues and gather, develop, and document user and functional requirements for customer projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
Gather, develop, and document functional business requirements for customer projects.
Author Process Maps to illustrate the AS-IS/TO-BE business processes.
Create documentation to support the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and to support the Computer System Validation (CSV) and the V-Model
Deliver timely updates on project statues.
Maintains up to date knowledge of assigned business and technology solutions and uses knowledge to propose and guide business improvements.
Provides consultation for business projects that often integrate new technology and/or carry out organization-wide operational and technology functions.
Provide technical support, working both over the phone/via chat/video with end-users, documenting resolution through a ticketing system.
Maintain clear documentation of system(s) and maintenance activity.
Drive changes using the Change Management process when implementing software upgrades and patches.
Provides input to review of designs, installation, configuration, maintenance, testing, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for projects.


Position Requirements:
College Junior or Senior with 1 year of working experience or previous internship experience as a Business Analyst in the Information Technology, Manufacturing of Finance sector is preferred.
Matriculating 4-year college student in Information Services/Computer Science/related
Appropriate industry or position certifications is a plus (e.g. IIBA BA Certs, PMI-PBA Cert)
A willingness to Collaborate and continuously develop strong and productive working relationships with members of the business and IT Teams.
Ability to meet with business stakeholders to review requirements, document requirements, and translate the information into technical requirements (User Stories).
Must be able to develop/generate business case/requirement documentation, reports, project updates, project ideas and other benchmarking data.
Must be able to read and comprehend technical benchmarking data and other data such as business requirements and test plans.
Ability to conduct thorough Gap Analysis
Foundational knowledge of ITIL 4 is a plus.
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people remotely.
Advanced analytical skills
Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently.
Possess a drive to learn and is adaptable to new or changing technologies.
Excellent technical documentation skills.
Working knowledge of ERP processes in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
End user support experience.


Technical Requirements:
Experience in Business Analysis
Working knowledge of Business Process Mapping (BPM) is a plus.
Proficient in one or more Project Management software or concepts (Monday.com, MS Project etc.)
Proficient in one or more process mapping software (Visio etc.)
Demonstrated understanding of Database concepts and structures
Proficient using Microsoft Power Platform (BI, Automate, Apps.)
Working knowledge of Data Analytics
Working Knowledge of Agile Methodology is a plus.
Working Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
Working knowledge of computer hardware including workstation installation/setup and maintenance in a Windows environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft O365 and Teams
Ability to readily learn and master new technologies.
